ICMS

In late 2023, I led a 12-month redesign of regional websites for major real estate brands like RE/MAX, Keller Williams, EXP, ERA, Coldwell Banker, and Century 21. The goal was to modernize the design, improve usability, and transition 20+ years of legacy code to a React-based front end. As part of this, we revamped Gryphtech’s content management system, transforming iPages into iCMS, a new CMS with brand-specific themes and added functionality based on customer needs.

The challenge
The existing regional websites and CMS were built on outdated technology, making them slow, hard to manage across multiple brands and languages, and lacking in modern design. The CMS also struggled to meet client demands, requiring a full rebuild to improve usability and introduce new features.

My role
As the lead UI/UX designer, I led the redesign from start to finish. I created high-fidelity mockups in Figma, built a design system, and implemented Material UI as the front-end framework. I also handled all UI development for the regional sites and customized the CMS to fit each brand’s needs using HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript.

The design approach
To keep things clean, modern, and scalable, I used Material UI as the foundation for all regional sites. Since navigation links were managed within the CMS, I designed a structured yet flexible header and footer system that adapted to different brands while maintaining consistency. Accessibility was a key focus, especially for RE/MAX Israel, so I optimized contrast, typography, and interactive elements to meet WCAG standards.

The impact
In November 2024, we launched the first redesigned site, RE/MAX Brazil, marking a huge milestone. The updated design modernized the look and feel while dramatically improving usability, performance, and accessibility. Users could now find properties faster with improved navigation, search, and listing pages.
On the CMS side, the new iCMS made content management much easier while keeping branding consistent. This successful launch set the foundation for rolling out the system to other regions, proving our approach and design decisions were on the right track.
